Welcome to the Band Program at Young Scholars of Central Pennsylvania. I am very excited about this upcoming year to make music with you and discover new and interesting things about the music making process. Even though we are starting out the school year distance learning, we are going to still have an amazing time learning and playing music together. I have so many wonderful things planned for this school year. I look forward to working with each and every one of you as well as meeting your parents, pets and family. If you or your parents have any questions or concerns, please feel free to email me or contact me at [email protected]. Thank you for choosing to learn a new instrument and joining band. Music truly makes a difference, and I am certain that you will be saying the same thing by the end of the year!
Our Mission:
This year is going to be a year of discovery, and we are going to take an in-depth look into all styles and genres of music, and we will begin to learn about different types of world music. We at Young Scholars are dedicated to providing outstanding musical experiences and opportunities to our students while allowing them to develop valuable life skills such as building a positive self-image, building confidence, poise, respect, responsibility, loyalty and building a sense of community while working together with fellow students.
Our Goals in Band:
1. To provide every student with a comprehensive knowledge of music through performing and creating.
2. To provide an environment that promotes and fosters life-long learning and personal growth.
3. To create an environment that provides all students with a sense of community and loyalty to an organization for students to express themselves through music and to allow them to reach their full potential through music.
Grading Policy:
80% participation and attendance
